History and Background
The San Francisco Private Equity Network (SFPEN) was founded in 2016 with a clear mission: to build a dedicated networking and engagement platform exclusively for private equity professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area.
To ensure authenticity and long-term impact, SFPEN was created by private equity professionals, for private equity professionals. The organization is governed by a board of directors representing a diverse set of leading San Francisco-based firms, including American Pacific Group, Audax Group, FFL Partners, Genstar Capital, GI Partners, H.I.G. Capital, Knox Lane, and TPG. This leadership structure helps maintain relevance and alignment with the needs of the professional community it serves.
Our Mission
The San Francisco Private Equity Network exists to connect private equity professionals
across the Bay Area to exchange industry knowledge and grow a welcoming community.
Our mission is to advance the private equity landscape in the San Francisco Bay Area
by providing opportunities for social networking with industry peers, fostering discussions
with experts across several end markets, and hosting marquee events throughout the
year.
Where Relationships Drive Returns
Each year, SFPEN organizes between 8 to 10 thoughtfully curated events that foster both professional development and community building. These include biannual events tailored to specific career levels—spring and fall gatherings for Vice President to Director-level professionals, and spring and fall events for Associates and Senior Associates
—as well as industry-focused dinners, a Women in Private Equity dinner, and an annual charity event. Each gathering is thoughtfully curated to strengthen relationships, foster the exchange of ideas, and build a stronger private equity community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Meet Our Board Members
SFPEN is led by a board of private equity professionals from across the Bay Area who help shape our events, partnerships, and strategic direction. Their leadership ensures our network stays focused, relevant, and community-driven.
